5.7L HEMI® V8

If you're looking for a burly V8 engine in your new truck, the 5.7L HEMI V8 is one you'll want to consider. With a cast-iron block and aluminum-alloy heads, the 5.7L HEMI is tough, but it's also efficient with a multi-displacement system with fuel saver technology and variable valve timing.

5.7L HEMI V8 with eTorque

The eTorque mild hybrid system incorporated with the 5.7L HEMI V8 engine replaces the traditional alternator with a 48-volt, 12-cell lithium-ion battery that powers a belt-start generator. This mild hybrid system makes 130 pound-feet of launch torque, perfect for getting a heavy trailer going.

3.6L Pentastar® V6 with eTorque

The base engine across most of the Ram 1500 lineup, the Pentastar V6 is a balanced engine that features an aluminum block with aluminum alloy heads and operates with wide-range variable valve timing and two-step variable valve lift. The eTorque system on this engine makes 90 pound-feet of launch torque.

3.0L EcoDiesel V6

When you're looking for big torque numbers and the best fuel efficiency in the Ram 1500, the EcoDiesel V6 is the engine to choose. The cast-iron engine block stands up to punishing work - including making maximum torque at 1,600 revolutions per minute (rpm), which is significantly lower than the gas engines.

6.2L Supercharged HEMI V8

At the heart of the Ram 1500 TRX, you'll find the monstrous 6.2L HEMI V8. The twin-screw supercharger unleashes a blast of torque almost instantly - launching the TRX from 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds. Maximum engine speed with the 6.2L HEMI is 14,600 rpm, and the engine is built with a cast-iron engine block, forged-steel crankshaft, and induction-hardened bearings.

Most of the 2021 Ram 1500 trim levels offer all five engines, with a couple of exceptions. The Ram 1500 Tradesman HFE is only available with the 3.6L Pentastar V6, and the Ram 1500 Limited only offers three of the five available engines. The Limited trim cannot be equipped with the 3.6L Pentastar.
